Datsun Go hatchback unpacked in India for a price less than Rs 400,000

Datsun, the Japanese car brand, which was hived off has been brought back with a bang by Nissan Motor Co in India by launching its cute looking Datsun Go for less than Rs 400,000. In an amazing show, the all new Datsun Go was unveiled at Gurgaon just a while ago by none other than Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Nissan Motor.

This 21st century car is replete with five doors, which is a testimony of its brand value, which is reintroduced by Nissan after a gap of 32 long years. Way back about a century ago, Datsun was introduced in the name of DAT-GO. The third brand from its stable, Nissan also has Nissan brand of vehicles besides the Infiniti genre of cars. Expected to be out in the market during early part of next year, the car is likely to priced below Rs 400,000. Nissan has high hope on Datsun brand to bring in the much needed volume based revenue to its kitty. In fact, Nissan had announced that Datsun's importance in its Power 88 mid-term business plan sometime back. With the launch of Datsun Go, Nissan is hoping to grab in excess of ten percent share from the Indian passenger car market by 2016-17.

While speaking at the launch, Ghosn said: "In fact, this is a historic day for us and our patrons and partners in some of the world's fastest growing markets. What is more, it is also an exciting moment for many women and men in India who, today, come one step closer to realizing the dream of buying a car".
